We use social media to communicate and engage with New Zealanders about transport policy and related issues.

These terms of use apply to all of our social media accounts, unless otherwise specified. By using or accessing our social media accounts, you agree and affirm the conditions of use of the particular social media platform and our individual page or account.

Our followers can expect to receive regular updates including:

  • news
  • transport policy developments
  • invitations to provide us with feedback
  • information about recruitment
  • campaigns/messages from other transport agencies, such as Waka Kotahi, NZ Transport Agency and Maritime NZ.

We may follow/like organisations and individuals that are relevant to our organisation. This does not imply endorsement or guarantee the accuracy of their information.

Acceptable use

We reserve the right to remove content that:

  • is deemed offensive, abusive or obscene
  • is not relevant
  • breaches legislation, copyright or intellectual property rights
  • is discriminatory
  • has political bias
  • constitutes spam
  • refers to commercial activity, including advertising.

We may report, block or ban anyone who posts the above content or comments, or who breaches these terms of use or the terms of use of the relevant social media platform.

Engagement

Our social media accounts are monitored Monday to Friday 8.30am–5pm. We will respond to private messages, as soon as we can, during business hours.

While we will attempt to answer all questions, we cannot enter into any discussion related to politics. We will review replies and comments made to us, and pass any emerging themes or helpful suggestions to the relevant people in the Ministry of Transport. However, we may choose not to reply to irrelevant or offensive questions and statements.

We may choose to retweet, repost, mention or post information by other organisations and/or individuals for the interest and information of our followers. However, we do not endorse or guarantee the accuracy of this information.
